Hey you all!
Yep, I am still alive. I arrived safely in the US and settled in with my Sweetheart. I sent most of my work supplies and tools via DHL to my new home. Six out of seven packages already arrived and I set up my new work room. I have SO MUCH MORE space here than I did in my old apartment.
Instead of a tiny attic with slanted walls, I now have an actual room, almost like a true human being!
I still can’t open up my shop yet, because we are still waiting on my work papers, but you can expect A LOT of improvements once I am set up properly.
One of my home-warming gifts was a wonderful Singer Quantum Futura embroidery machine! I already love it and it will be the perfect addition to my Quantum Stylist 9960. It will allow me to make much more detailed and higher quality decorations on many items and opens up a whole new area of crafts. Also it will allow me to make very detailed faces for plushies, so I will most likely go back to my roots and actually make some more plush toys.
Also I am using this forced vacation to learn a lot of new techniques. Basic metalworking, more advanced prop crafting, new sewing techniques, ect.
The next big investment I planned on getting once the cash starts flowing in again is an industrial sewing machine. It will have to be a Zig-Zag machine, so this is gonna be pretty costly, but the much higher speed and strength of an industrial machine will allow me to make most of my items at a MUCH faster rate and more comfortably, too.
